Our Story

Chef’s Table Kosher Catering has been serving New York City’s most meaningful gatherings for nearly three decades. From intimate Shabbat dinners to elegant weddings, corporate receptions, and bar/bat mitzvah celebrations. Founded by Ava Lang Soffer and Bruce Soffer, Chef’s Table is known for restaurant-level food, polished presentation, and calm, hands-on execution that makes hosts feel taken care of from first call to final course.

Food & Service

Bruce is a graduate of the French Culinary Institute and built his reputation in NYC’s event world by pairing exceptional cuisine with a flexible, collaborative style. The kind that helps clients shape the tone of their event while trusting the details to an experienced team. Over the years, Chef’s Table has catered events across Manhattan and beyond, including memorable affairs at iconic venues and for discerning organizations that expect a high standard.

Floral & Event Design

What truly sets Chef’s Table apart is that you’re not only choosing a caterer, you’re gaining access to an elevated design sensibility. Bruce’s wife, Ava Lang Soffer, is Chef’s Table’s Floral & Event Designer, bringing a strong visual point of view and deep experience in large-scale events. Ava studied at The School of Visual Arts, Parsons, FIT, and The Metropolitan Institute of Interior Design, and her work includes full event styling, from helping define an event’s theme to designing floral and creative centerpieces (both floral and non-floral). Her client experience spans respected institutions and brands, and she has designed for events connected to organizations such as Hadassah, Jewish National Fund, United Jewish Appeal, and corporate clients including Neutrogena and Sesame Street, as well as high-profile private events.

Chef’s Table Kosher Catering operates under the strict Orthodox supervision of Rabbi Avrohom Marmorstein, Director of Mehadrin Kashrus Hashgacha, and we are proud to offer fully kosher-certified service without compromising on flavor, creativity, or presentation.
